The last time I was here, I didn’t get a chance to finish the track down to the bottom of the waterfall as we didn’t want to have to trek the stairs in the night, so we were only able to see the top of Wentworth Falls. Previously post linked here.
This time, the plan was to get there well in advance to be able to do it. So I actually left home at about 5 to first, drive to the Rock Lookout to see sunrise. Unfortunately, we were partly facing the wrong direction (due to the Rock Lookout’a direction) and the morning was pretty cloudy so we couldn’t see anything. We then left at about 7 after spending almost an hour there, and drove to the nearest Maccas to have breakfast. On the way, we stopped to check out some kangaroos owned by the locals and took a couple snaps on the road as well!
We then arrived at Wentworth Falls location at about 10am.
The view hasn’t changed much from the last time I visited (you’d hope not!), but the beautiful thing this time is that it was nice and clear so I was able to see the green essence of the Mountains.
This is the stopping point where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Mountains before descending down what I call as one of the steepest flight of stairs I’ve ever come across!
It’s well worth the walk, because once you’ve done this, you approach a forest track and you know you’ve reached bottom level of the falls. The walk down the stairs only takes about 10 minutes so it doesn’t take too long. It’s just the intensity of the 10 minutes which makes it tiring !
As you can see, the waterfall is definitely worth the walk. Waterfalls are great 👍🏻. I love being able to just sit under the waterfall and enjoy the nice breeze that comes along with it. The good thing about going to waterfalls during the Summer is that it’s not too cold as opposed to during Winter, so you can sit to chill and go for a little dip under the waterfall. In Winter, you wouldn’t be able to stand around for too long because of how cold the water is.
To enjoy great views, try to visit during Spring / Summer. Although I highly recommend Summer due to the high chances of having a more pleasant sunny day 🙂
