The drive the bottom of Lake Wanaka is about an hours drive with a minimum of 68 kms. Our point of destination was Wanaka Recreational Reserve as you can park your car and go for a stroll by the lake.
It was an extremely windy day but it was bright and sunny so it was good.
There wasn’t too many people around so we did sort of have this whole reserve to ourselves. It was quite nice. But unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to just sit and relax for a bit. We wanted to explore further, so after overlooking this view, we decided to head to the Lavender fields to see if it was still full of lavenders (it wasn’t lavender season anymore so we ended up going to Puzzling World, see next post).
