down by the Sea

2015 was indeed a busy one at & outside of work. 2015 flew by so quick but I cannot stress how great of a year it was. December was a busy one, with my Chartered Accountants (CA) exam, closing off an internal secondment I had scored at my work, celebrating another year in my 20s and also organising the family Xmas gathering.

To celebrate the end of a work year, I spent one of the last days of 2015 with some of my work buddies. What better way to do so than to spend an entire day at one of Sydney’s best beaches, Bondi Beach.

It was perfect beach weather, hence the bus line to take a bus from Bondi Junction to Bondi Beach was so long. So we just took the bus that stopped at North Bondi and just walked to the beach. It was honestly a 5 minute walk so it wasn’t too much of a big deal for us.

We arrived at Bondi Icebergs Club at about 11.30am so we were able to get some seats out on the balcony with the beautiful water view.

We couldn’t leave without trying the seafood platter, especially by the beach! So we ordered the:

– SPICY POTATO WEDGES ($9.00)
Served w sour cream & sweet chilli sauce

– GRILLED BARRAMUNDI ($27.00)
Topped w herb & garlic butter. Served w a mixed leaf salad & fries.

– ICEBERGS SEAFOOD PLATTER FOR TWO ($75.00)
COLD: Cooked king prawns, oysters natural & garnished salad.
HOT: Beer battered flathead fillets, salt & pepper squid, half shell scallops w melted cheese, mussels in tomato, garlic & chilli Fries & served w tartar, cocktail & aioli sauces.

Let’s just say that by the end of our meals, we were dead full. To help us digest, we decided to do the walk from Bondi to Bronte Coastal walk.

Bondi Beach

The walk is about 1.5km which takes about 45 mins – 1 hour walk depending on how long you want to take to enjoy the great view. It’s one of my favourite walks because of the beautiful ocean view. It’s just splendid. As we were doing the walk, we couldn’t help but notice the beautiful 3 beaches from afar. Far left is Bronte Beach, Tamarama Beach and then we have Bondi Beach which is far right which is a bit hard to see in this picture (I didn’t take a panoramic shot of this unfortunately!).

We couldn’t finish the day without some Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Honestly, I never feel complete without an ice cream cone from here. This time, I tried the ‘Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough‘ ice cream flavour. It was great !
